Todays walk starts at the crossroads of Yonge & Bloor, one of Toronto's most famous intersections. Looking up at the soaring 1 Bloor Condo, we begin our walking tour of Yonge Street. Yonge Street is a major arterial route in the Canadian province of Ontario connecting the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto all the way to Lake Simcoe, a gateway to the Upper Great Lakes.
Yonge Street as the "longest street in the world". Running as far north as Barrie, Ontario then continuing beyond through central and northern Ontario to the Ontario-Minnesota border at Rainy River, the highway was over 1,896 kilometres (1,178 mi) long.
This area of Downtown Yonge is a buzzing area filled with both locals, students, white collar workers as well as rich tourists, luxury shopping as well as dispensaries, asian restaurants and much much more.
Continuing South down Yonge, we pass other major intersections like Yonge & College, the iconic Dundas Square and surrounding Eatons Centre shopping complex, before reaching Queen St, followed by Toronto's historic Front Street and lastly the Harbourfront District at the Waterfront.
